Turban Tying

To bring awareness to the significance of the Turban in Sikh way of life, we have organized multiple events in the Charlotte Metro area and across the Carolinas. Such events also help educate the community that turbans are not only an important part of Sikh identity, but it is also a symbol of equality and justice for all.
Charlotte Gurmat School

Charlotte Gurmat School is a Sunday school that teaches 40+ kids in the Charlotte area about Punjabi Boli (language), Virsa (Sikh History), Gurmat (Guru’s teachings) and Keertan (musical prayers). LEAF has been supporting this school since 2016.
Lohri Mela

Lohri is a harvest festival mainly celebrated in Punjab, India. It also highlights the significance of women empowerment, and the importance of community building.
Nischay Gurmat Camp

Camp Nischay is a week long Gurmat Summer camp for children ages 5 to 18 years at Hickory Knob State Park And Resort in McCormick, South Carolina, USA. Besides a lot of fun activities, it involves teaching Punjabi Boli, Virsa, Gurmat, Keertan, Gatka and other interactive classes.
